It depends on several factors mainly:
- How old you are (under 25 and you'll see the biggest jump)
- How long you had auto insurance before making a claim (both with that company, and in total with any company)
- The type of insurance policy you had - especially whether or not you have a fixed premium plan
- Perhaps whether there were any extenuating circumstances - eg, blatant dangerous driving vs sudden snowstorm causing loss of traction.

About a week ago I crashed into someone on the way home from work, and as much as i hate to admit it, it was really my fault. Its all been dealt with by our insurance companies, but I don't yet know how much my insurance premiums are likely to go up because of this? Anyone have some good news for me?! Fingers are crossed...
